Is it true that chiropractors are opposed to drugs?

Most chiropractors are opposed to the indiscriminate use of prescription drugs. Clinically, we witness the devastating side-effects associated with these drugs and medications. The risks are real and very costly.

For every dollar spent on a drug, another dollar is spent on treating the adverse reactions caused by the drug. This is great for the pharmaceutical companies, but is horrible for us as consumers.

We are bombarded with advertisements that promote the use of drugs. It is estimated that $2.2 billion dollars is spent per year on advertising. The pharmaceutical companies condition our minds to link drug usage with various TV images that have nothing to do with the medication. After a while, these drugs become as common place in our thinking as candy and are casually consumed.

As a chiropractor, I am not personally opposed to all medications. I simply recommend that patients consider natural, safer alternatives before resorting to the medication. In many cases there are effective alternatives.
